Telethon Perth

First my apologies to the moderators for this post but please leave it up for a while,

Telethon is on in Perth Western Australia and the Forrest family (an iron magnate and billionaire) have offered to match dollar for dollar, every donation for about the next four hours!

This is to raise money for research and treatment of childhood diseases so if you can spare a dollar, see here ...

Some more info, following his donation of $76 mil to West Australian universities Twiggy forrest ended up giving $1 mil to telethon and for that matter our govenor general's family donated personally $1 Mil, Crown Casinos broke a single donator's record by donating $2 mil!

Telethon is a big thing in Peth and last year we raised $16.8 mil and this year we have already passed a milestone in that in 46 years of Telethon we today passed the $150 mil total raised!

Please remember the bulk of the money goes to research into finding cures for childhood diseases and supporting the Princess Margaret Childrens Hospital (soon to move to a brand new Hospital named The Perth Childrens Hospital!

This year for the first time a rival TV station made a major donation (Telethon is channel 7 and channel 9 donated $100,000.00)

Well they are closing things as I type this (however you can still donate after we close the program, see the link above). The published total for this year is.......

$20,701,272.00

In four years time it will be the 50th Telethon and I personally will be out there seeking major contributions, so if you can see a way to help feel free to contact me (I will only be facilitating not collecting) or Telethon!
