I tried to log into my Bcm 400 today to make a change. I can log in and go all they way to Telephony Services.

Then when I click on telephony services I get this error message:

"Telephony Programming is not available. A connection to the MSC has not been established. Please try again later"

So I tried like 10 times to get in but I keep getting the same message.

Try this: at the main BCM login screen, click Maintenance, then click Maintenance Tools. Click Reset Unified Manager Server. It won't affect any operation of the system, safe to do during the day. Give it a few minutes then try to get back into the configuration again.

If that doesn't work, you'll need to reboot the BCM.

Typically I've seen this happen if the Unified Manager is not exited/logged off from properly. Eventually it just gets angry and quits working....

If biv343 is right, please post, I had the same problem and needed to warm boot.
If biv343 is right make sure we both come back and leave a star.

I have had about 20 of these errors and it took a pulled power plug to make it reboot.

i went back to the site today. Was able to log in and make some changes no problem. I went there with the intention of rebooting so I got there late in the afternoon. Well, maybe it lost power and the last month and "rebooted"? It is on a big UPS though.

I had the same trouble,The promble was that the BFT and the MSC card had to be replace, they were bad from factory,Passwords works some time and some time they didnt, system was in and out of booting. After changing works fine.. Can you hook up to seial port run telnet and look at it...

I had the same problem and it required a replacement of the MSC card. I was working with Nortel 2nd level on this because of other issues it had as well. We tried starting the services individually from the console interface and it wouldn't even do that.

You may have to go in to telenet and enable it..or do you have procom direct connect to it and run...
