I have just installed Nortel Telephony Manager 3.0 , when trying to connect to the PBX using overlay passthru I always recieve invalid username/password. I have searched the solution search at Nortel, patched the TM nad tried entering all upper-case as stated in the SS. Has any body had, and resolved this problem? I do connect when "udpating system data", so when the TM directly inputs the username and password it works just fine.

So with the overlay passthru you ca get to the login and password prompts?
Be sure of your login and password and case sensitive. Older swithces logins wwere not case sensitive. Also is this a direct connection to your switch or ether-net?

Yes we can get to the login and have verified the login and password with reference to case sesitivity. It is an ethernet connection. Thanks.

Along with your ethernet connection, do you have an MRV in line with this connection? Other wise it sounds like it sould work, you can xmit from OTM or retreive but cannot use pass thru for CLI. If MRV is in line I think you have to login thru it first then into the switch but do not know what your full physical connections are set up like. Is your OTM terminal close enough to the switch to try and use your PC's Comm 1 port? What type of switch?

MIKE

Sounds like the Username is not MAT enabled or is Read Only enabled in the PBX.
