Hello all,
Currently I work in Houston, TX and there are many local carriers for telephone service, Verizon, Embarq, ATT. Sometimes I have to have differnt lines installed in areas not immediately around my location, and sometimes find myself calling 3 or 4 carriers before finding the one that installs for that area.

My question is, is there a map online that will show my city and surrounding area, a map of what carrier(s) service what part of the area I am trying to install in? That way I only ahve to call once.

Thanks if you can help...

If you are installing new service (and therefore, do not have the area code/exchange assigned yet to your location), I would recommend pulling up the Chamber of Commerce website for the town. Most will have a "Relocation" or a "Local Utilities" section of the website, giving you the local telephone carrier for the area.

I have used area-codes.com, put in the Area Code and the zip code of the location that you need to have PSTN type service installed and it will give you all the local to that area telecommunications services providers with the city/office codes assigned to them.

There used to be a site out there that had lovely maps by wire center, but it's been years since I used it, it may no longer be available. Probably the best bet would be to use Google Maps or a reverse lookup on YellowPages.com to find an existing phone number near your site, then lookup the carrier on telcodata.us by the NPA/NXX.
