I am running two computers as data collectors. The systems are Win 2000 with Raid control to two 120 GB hard drives.I would like to know if someone makes a device such as an auto dialer that if one or both of the computers should stop collecting data, lockup, or (hopefully not) crash, the dialer would be able to dial a tech in the other building for assistance?

You could install WhatsUp Gold on the Tech's desktop and configure it to monitor the servers. We presently use it to monitor 24 VPN tunnels, 15 servers, and 5 switches. You can even configure it to dial to a cell phone & send a text message with specific information as to what service or device is down. The catch is that it runs around $1500 USD.

What about having it Net Send the tech. Or send an E-mail.

Not sure on the net send. I don't see why it shouldn't work, but we never had the need to try it. It can definitely be configured to send emails, though.

(BTW - an aside to a felow Tick fan . . . SPOOOOOON!!!)[thumbsup2]
