Telecom Choices in India

Anyone familiar in setting up services in India? I am looking to get information on Price and install timeframes for both voice and data. Looking to get a 2mb Dedicated Internet Connection and a PRI/E1 for Voice to carry Local Long Distance and DID's. We have an IP infrastructure here in the US but I am being told you cannot connect your phones system in India to the PSTN and Private Network and that you would have to have 2 separate systems to accomplish that. Which is fine, I do not necessarily need IP voice calls back to the states but it would have been nice to have them connected. Anyhow, any suggestions on service providers? Need reliable circuits and strong customer service. Contacts also welcome...

Any information on the telecom in India would be appreciated. Need to know regulations and how thier current infrastructure is. Are they above the curve in telecom technologies or instable?

the laws around pstn breakout are very tight.

you will not be able to call from the US and breakout to indian pstn, but the other way is fine.

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.
