Tektronix 780 Fuser Problem 2

My Tektronix 780 has a "replace fuser" message on the display. The fuser was replaced with a brand new one and the Fuser Life Counter was reset to zero, but the "Replace Fuser" message continues and the printer refuses to work. Could there be a problem with the entire C/D tray it resides on? For example, if I replaced the tray with another (if I can find one) would that work? Trying to avoid making a service call.
Thanks
Chris

Try resetting the counter through diagnostics mode again, if this does not work. Replace the engine controller board.

Thanks for the response. I have tried to reset numerous times to no avail. The engine controller board... Sounds like only a service tech can replace, or are there places where I can obtain an engine controller board?
Thanks.

If resetting the counter through diagnostics doesn't work, an engineer would replace the print engine control board (part# 118-9796-00).

If you're a bit technical, you could replace it yourself.
Post here if you need some help doing this.

Thank you again for your valuable insight. This looks to be the way to go. I feel confident enough to do the replacement (built my video editing workstation from scratch using spare trash at work). My only concern is locating the part. So far, the only place that I found that has one says that it's refurbished. Kinda makes me a bit nervous.

Sorry for posting a semi-unrelated issue but this thread gets the most activity and I used it in the past to solve the 'clutch' problem.

I own a Phaser 740 with a new Fuser (98%). In removing paper jammed in the fuser, I accidentally created a small tear in the film of the top roller (not the fuser roll). Does anyone know if that film is available; or, the roller? I hate to buy another fuser for such a minor problem.

Thanks in advance.
