Tech-Ed or not too Tech-Ed

I didn't know where else to post this so I thought I would try here.

Has anyone been to Tech-Ed and is it worth the money. I will be travelling to California from TN. Missing a week of work and getting Motel, food, travel, etc... all out of my pocket.

Will I learn enough to benefit from the loss of time and money.
