I'm trying to figure out what my coworker did that has made it where my job codes for our Bartenders are requiring them to save or close a tab before opening a new one. It is saying "You must first close or save the current tab," what option is enforcing this rule?
 
Check your Order Queue for a maximmum number of open orders field.

Is the issue exclusively with your bartenders?
 
It has noting to do with order queue, it would be anyone assigned tabs over tables. Aloha assumes if you use tabs you are a bartender.
This is the setting they changed. You did not say what version of Aloha so here is where the setting is for both of them

Old aloha looks like this
Maintenance, store settings order entry, tables and tabs. Make sure limit bartener to one tab is unchecked

New Aloha looks like this
Maintenance, Business, Store, Store Settings, order entry, scroll down to tabs and tables. Again make sure limit bartender is unchecked

I run CFC, with multiple stores on Table Service 6.7 and 12.3, and see it for both POS versions. I'm on CFC 14.5.
 
The one I was looking at was only like 13.9

I have so many versions of everything and all sorts of customers are all over the map. 6.4 is the lowest and 12.3 is the highest currently. Anytime I see anything below 6.7 I try to upgrade them. Same with Aloha Manager I hate it and upgrade to NAM if at all possible. Only downside is usually requires some re-training.

I have seen that setting just wasn't sure what version you were running. Limit to one tab at a time as you said should be unchecked and if must name tab is check all you do is hit new order and it prompts you to name the tab.
