hello, i am trying to put together an excel formula to calculate each month team growth.

so month one there is only me - one team mamber, if i recruit 1 person a month to join my team, and they recruit 1 person a month to grow there team etc.. i need to know the total for each level down and global total.

how can i do this in excel?

thankyou looking forward to replys.

Isn't this like a simple doubling each month? It would help if you provided some context about how you want this displayed?

I think in Month N you could use:
Code:
=2^N

Sounds like a homework problem. The exponential growth formula of 2^(n-1) would be my first guess for the total. The only problem that I had was the item about each time you recruit someone, they started their own team. Also, can a person be considered on more than 1 team? Is everyone considered to be a part of Team 1, or once they start their own team, they're independent of Team 1?
Month 1, 1 person, 1 team
Month 2, 2 people, 1 team? (or did you start 2 teams with 1 person each)
Month 3, 4 people, up to 4 teams

My guess is that OP got involved in a pyramid sales thing (soap, vitamins or life insurance) and has diamonds in view.

Skip,

[glasses]Just traded in my OLD subtlety...
for a NUance![tongue]
