A very general question to all of you RPG programmers out there.

I'm interested in teaching myself RPG, but don't really know of a good place to start. It's very difficult to find RPG books in regular stores, and it's equally as hard to practice if you don't have access to AS400 all the time. Can anyone suggest a good book or tutorial or forum to begin learning RPG?

Thanks!

Well, I would suggest using Amazon.com or barnesandnobel.com to find books. There are several good books that I have heard of. Bob Cozzi (sp?) is a respected person in the field. So is Brad(ley) Stone. These are two authors I know to look for.

As far as access to an iSeries. Check out

I'm currently teaching myself RPG IV and am using an online training center that was only $65.00 for 38 hours of RPG training. It got me going in the right direction and has helped me so far re-write a RPG II program in RPG IV. I also have several books but the online training is what really helped.

The link is:
Scroll down the subjects list and RPG IV Programming. Hope this helps. GOOD LUCK!
