We have a strange problem at one of our remote sites. When they are called from any other location using our IP Gateway, the remote site cannot hear the caller. But the caller can hear the person at the remote site. This started happening out of the blue a few weeks ago. A system reboot works, but then by the next day, it happens again.

One thing I noticed is that when I ping the VoIP-DSP IP address while calls are working properly, I get a response. However, when the calls are "half-duplex", the VoIP-DSP IP address doesn't respond. We can't seem to find any conflicts on the network, either. We tried replacing the IPCEMPR card, and that didn't help.

Anyone have any ideas of what might be causing this?

We had that before on a NCP and the problem was on the network. it may be a printer or someone using a fixed ip on a device.

once the problem happened the unit would not work again until the system was rebooted.

we made sure the dhcp pool did not have that address in its range and reserved it as well

this went on for months and could not prove it was not the system.

we ended up putting the system on a vlan with a different subnet and routing between the networks and it sorted the problem
we were using IP phones not gateway but the problem sounds the same

Thanks, OBT! We will look into this.
