i'm told that the 600 will need to be installed by a certified installer. if you are not certified, then you will not be able to gain a registration key to unlock a card/system.
pana are doing this to stop all the problems they had with uncertified techs working on the 500.
i suppose this will keep us in our jobs longer, and also cut out half the problems we had with the 500 that were caused by clowns that didn't know what they were doing.
yes I think your man thinks he can buy the 600
and put it in himself!I am suprised the panasonic uk
does not have there dealer website locked down as well!
BTW in the the states the tda product can only be
unlocked and install by certified dealers thank god.
All current TDA models can be installed by anyone in Aust as long as they know the password. Obviosuly, installation by a non certified dealer will void the factory warranty but no extra codes or hardware registration is required.
As i said before, this is all going to change with the 600 so it should be interesting to see what effect it has on non certified dealers attempting to work on the system...
Yeah i wouldn't use the software, but as the 600 isn't released here yet, its a good preview of what to expect. Also the manual remains pretty much the same so that is fairly safe to read
just completed the training here in ireland and there no form of lock on the software or cards /system i asked the instructer is there any plans to lock it down and he said no....
on the other side the voip setup is a peice of cake
Spoke to pana here, and got told that it's fine to use the software off the UK site, as long as you choose to install the software for your particular region. Only 3 versions of the software exist in the world and the only difference is the language that everything is in.
