HI all, I have a customer who has an issue where an extn phone in their office is receiving random calls from an unknown source, when the phone is answered they tell me there is no dial which after a few seconds changes to ringing tone. This extn is also setup with call diversion to their main reception phone. I have asked them to record dates and times when this is occurring and it seems to be most days and frequently enough to annoy them (about once every hour)
Is there a way to trace calls on extns? or a call log recorded by the system i could check against date and times
Any help would be appreciated.

If it is coming I on an extension as a dil there is a call log incoming on the phone. If it is a call to a group you can setup a group call log button
If there is no number being displayed when the call comes in then it won't show you anything

Thanks obtsystems,

I have more to the story, after a quick visit yesterday and a lot more patience with the customer I found extn 823 dialing ICD group 601 (which had the two office numbers affected)and vice versa
I found this on the CallMaster print-out, so I thought a quick solution is to deleted extn 823 in the meantime, and monitor to see if the problem disappears (as this extn is not used anymore)

Did I do the right thing???

If it works it is the right thing

Question I would ask is what was causing that extension to call 601. If it was an analogue extension and a fax or modem on it calling the group on that extension it will still do it even with no number assigned to it

Other Thing is what is the operator extension number set to. If some thing is set to call the extension 823 and it no longer exists it could default to operator extension or group depending what is set as operator

I like your thinking obtsystems, the problem I have has been in a rest home, and the management advised me that the extn belonged to a resident who hardly uses their phone. I didn't hear from them today, so I'm taking that as a good sign.
Thanks for your input.
