hi Rami

Qsig & CTI

firstly lets start with cti (computer telephone intergration)

their are 2 software programs required to get screen popping for the likes of excel or outlook or any other type of data base to open and display on screen when a call is recieved.

1. the most inportant is (panasonic tapi driver)you will find this on the panasonic BTS site free to download. this is used to interface the pabx with the computer it is connected by use of a standard cable for programming between the comms port of the pbx and the comms port of the server/pc
when the driver is installed on the pc it acts as an ext no programming is required this ext rings on incomming calls and informs the pc of the caller id on the incomming call.this info is then transfered to the....

programe no 2: what i use in this case is software called
panasonic DTA
this is the software which carries out the screen popping
it installes in 2 locations
1. the ( server) this is the hub (where the main software collects the info).
2. the (client) each pc that is required to have CTI is a client each client has to have the software installed on their pc and each pc (client has to have a licence this licence is installed on the server and has no connection to the pc only in a number sence ( ie ) if you have 30 pc but only have 20 staff on duty at a time then you would only need 20 licences the pc connect to the server through the normal computer network no extra programming is required.
once the software is installed you would use the standard windows dialer to call people from within any software ( database you are usingby going ofhook and clicking on the phone number link in your database software.
normal windows software has no problem with the dialer hoever non standard data bases may require software upgrade in order to funtion with the tapi driver.

hope this helps a bit

peter

i would need to know what the equipment you need the Qsig info for is going to do maby your customer plans to transfer the cti off site as well if so could get messy but let me know...
