Has anyone experienced propagation of packets via port 0? I have read things about Conficker, but I was wondering if there is any legit use for it other than a UNIX system to find any available ports.

I see in my router logs ICMP messages followed by attempts for port 0 from the same node. This is a test lab. I have seen an infection on someone's computer ("Antivirus 2010" virus) and propagation of port 0 traffic from his computer (home laptop---go finger...lol).

Any thought welcome. Thanks.

I vaguely remember seeing some port 0 somewhere once and puzzling over it. I think I decided it was a misconfigured application. I can't imagine there's a legit use for it.
