Hi:

That ports TCP/UDP are required open in a firewal for the remote administration of a servant of NETWORKER in Linux? The Networker servant is in an end of firewall and a PC Windows with NETWORKER installed SERVER is to another side.

I need manage the Networker Linux Server from Windows PC. The Windows GUI is more easy that Linux GUI!

Thank´s

Hi,

You dont' need to configure any TCP/UDP port to configure your desktop to mange the legato server.

Here is the steps

1) Obtain a static IP for the PC you intend
2) Add your IP into the /etc/hosts files on the Legato server
3) Add the IP of the legato server into the c:/winnt/system32/drives/host of your PC
4) Add userName@* as the legato adminstrator *** "userName" is your PC login name

Thats all ....

Ufff!!! you are wrong!!! If you need to manage NetWorker Server that is behind a firewall from your laptop that is in the other side of firewall, you need to open port's on firewall.

Is not enough with placing the name of the equipment in the respective hosts archives and authorizing it within NetWorker. I executed a sniffer to find out that ports are used (7983 and 111), but was not enough with opening these ports.

guys, read the networker admin guide available from and take a look to the firewall part. You need to open some ports, don't remember now which they are, but they are clearly described in the manual.

Cheers.

That depends on the version. For NW 7.2, you must open 7937 and 7938. This should do the job.
