I recently connected a Linksys BEFSR41 Etherfast Cable\DSL with built-in 10/100 4-Port switch to my AOL provided DSL ethernet modem. I am using AOL 8.0 powered by Verizon. I searched on AOL using "AOL Linksys" and found instructions for upgrading the firmware on the router, making my network connections, and configuring the router to work with AOL DSL. I can connect to AOL, but it hangs when I attempt to open the Inbox, access a link from the welcome screen, etc. The message I get after being disconnected is as follows: TCP\IP virtual circuit has been cancelled due to a timeout." Any ideas?

I've been using that same Linksys on the Comcast network, and I have not seen that error in 2 years of use. Your post didn't mention if you can browse (independent of AOL) and do other internet ectivities.

Be sure not to overlook the basics, and try to fault isolate. The problem may not be the Linksys. Check security limitations at all points,,, PC, AOL, Firewall, etc..

I am unable to browse independent of AOL also. My connection just terminates shortly after getting on. I am using Windows 2000 Professional. Any help would be appreciated.
