TCP / IP Read Errs

Hummm...

I have a GroupWise 6.5 system, recently I have noticed many TCP/IP Read Errs in the GWIA Agent SMTP screen. Always have had some, but today I noticed 39 errors and only 21 messages sent 383 received. I took a look at the Resolve config, nothing has changed.

Background, the server is a Dell 4400, w/ two NIC's. One private one public.

Any thoughts?

Check your firewall. We were getting a large number of 420 and 450 errors. We have a firewall that is created and supported by a third party. Most of the time when I have the 420 and 450 errors a simple reboot of the firewall takes care of the problem. Novell TID's generally tell you those errors are not the fault of the GWIA. Their suggestions are check NIC's, switches, ports, cables, etc. Those errors can bee some of the most difficult to find fault.
