I am trying to set up a Canon imageRUNNER printer on a Windows ME machine. The problem is that I need to set it up as a Standard TCP/IP Port printer but don't have the option with Windows ME. Is there another way of setting up the printer? The printer is not set up on the network as a network printer so I can't set it up that way.

Method #1: Windows ME Ipp Client

The IPP client must be installed on your computer. Follow the steps below to install it.
. Insert the Windows Me CD-ROM.
. Select the add-ons folder, and then select the IPP folder.
. Double-click wpnpins.exe. Then follow the on-screen instructions.
. Click OK to restart your computer.

Setting up the printer
Connect your computer to a printer through IPP.

. Click Start, point to Settings, and then select Printers.
. Click Add Printer, and then click Next.
. Click Network Printer, and then click Next.
. Type the URL of the printer, and then click Next.
Format:
address of Internal Print Server:631/printer name

Method Two: Axis to Go Print Monitor

Download and install the Axis to Go Print System:

· Open the Printer Control Panel Applet
· Start the Add Printer Wizard by double clicking ‘Add Printer’. Click Next
· Select Local Printer. Click Next.
· Click on ‘Have Disk’ and browse to the location of the Windows Printer Drivers.
· Choose the correct printer from the list of printers. Click Next.
· Choose Printer @ TCP/IP Axis Port from the list of available ports. Click Next.
· Set the name of the printer (your preference), and click Next.
· When this part of the installation finishes you will return to the Printer Control Panel.
· Right click on the chosen printer and choose Properties.
· On the Details tab, hit the Add Port button.
· Select Other, and highlight Axis Port. Click OK.
· On the next screen, highlight RAW(TCP/IP) and click OK.
· Enter the IP number of the print server and enter the port number assigned to it
· Press the OK button--the printer is now installed.

You may also want to try to set it up as a local printer (though it may sit on the network). Set-up a new tcp/ip port and enter in the IP address.
