I have a small network setup with Windows XP Corporate and Windows 2000 Professionsal machines. I have an adsl line which runs into a d-link dsl router which is configured with dhcp. At first I had just tcp/ip installed and I could access the internet and ping all computers, but could not even see the other computers in my network places. I had the problem a couple of other times, but when I installed NetBios, or the IPX/SPX/Netbios protocol, everything worked fine. Out of curiousity, why would tcp/ip not work. I have seen it work on other systems, but do not know if the networks had a dns server on them. I would prefer to use tcp/ip because it is faster but do not know what to do.
Thanks
