Hi,

Recently I have been working on a Win 98SE Machine and tidying up it's network settings etc. It is a part of a mixed O/S Workgroup. The NIC Is a combo/BNC/10Mg RJ45 Card 3Com (3C905 Series I think) However even though the network connections seems to be working Ok, the binding Protocol to NIC adaptor is not indicated in Network properties as usual.

Is this a problem that I should try to fix - any experiance with this one guys?
P.S. I remember this being a frequent symptom in earlier Win 95 machines.

TIA.

Jim.

I have had the same problem many times. If you uninstall and reinstall dialup adaptor and tcip it dosen't fix it because there is a file(s) that are not replaced and used from the original install.

I fixed it once by this procedure:

1. Uninstall the tcip, dialup adaptor, network cards, modems, and all networking devices. (only uninstall dialup adaptor probably needed ?)
2. Shut down windows --> restart in dos
3. Deleted all files used by dialup adaptor\networking
4. Restart windows
5. Reinstalled dialup adaptor and all networking devices

Unfortunatelly I don't have the list of files I deleted from dos.

............Charles
