I have a Metaframe XP farm on 2kSP3 and am getting mixed results with clients resolving "ICA" from there machines using TCP/IP + HTTP... The VPN they are connecting to provides them with a DNS server search order, but some clients especally "XP Home" refuse to use it in a timely manor. Sometimes the clients are able to connect other times they cannot, when I have them go to a dos prompt and ping "ICA" sometimes they can other times not. I have resolved this by statically placing IP addresses in the address list field on the clients that are having issues, but this completely defeats the purpose of having DNS do round robin of ICA in the background...
My questions are: Are other people experiencing this same issue? Do people perfer the unicast broadcast method employed by just TCP/IP? Does anyone else experience slowness with TCP/IP + HTTP when connecting to non farm xps servers?
