Hi,

the prob is a pc wont ping any other terminals it just times out. it can be pinged by another terminal - so i checked the ip settingsusing 'winipcfg' - 4 some reason it shows that theres default gateway at the same address as the pc. On other PC on the network the default gate = n/a

when i look at the network settings and the TCP/IP details of the network card - it shows no gateways??

how can i remove this default gateway - i tried to remove thet whole protocal an try aging but no go.

any help appreciated. PArm

What OS's are installed on the computers in question?
Are you using DHCP or Static IP addresses?
Are you saying that one computer has a gateway address and the other does not? The one that can not ping does not have the Gateway IP address?

ok, Im on a novell Netware Network with Win 98 workstations.

THe IPs are set manually, so static - there is no gatway on the network - hence other pc's which show no default gate work perfectly.

however, one pc keeps defaulting a gate on the same IP as i specified for it's IP address. Non of the other pc's do this - teh gateway is not visible under tcp/ip for the NIC - but shows up when i check in winiscfg.

i can ping the station from another station it's fine - but th eone with the default gate won't ping out.

i tried 2 remove the nic & the tcp/ip protocal an come againg - but no luck.
any help pls.
