Hi all,

We have a DTS package attempting to import data from an excel spreadsheet on a remote machine through a firewall.

Does anyone know which port\protocol we would need to open on the firewall to allow this?

eg:
[Srv1]->[Firewall]->[Srv2]
Srv1 executes DTS and needs to import xls from Srv2

You can find the port # out a couple of ways:

While you have the application running and connected to your server:

a) run netstat on the server and find the name of the workstation running the client software. It will show the port #.

b) run TCPview from Sysinternals.com. This will also show TCP ports
