Hello!

We're in a situation where we are moving some of our client to another office, but still in the same building.

These clients are all on Dumb Terminals (3477, 3488) and connected currently with Twinax cables on strings...

I'd like to avoid the need to install Twinax wire, as our clients will eventually get PC's and go with an Ethernet solution.

Can anyone recommend a product so that we can run the terminals with a balun connected to RJ-45? Then run Ethernet somehow to the AS/400? I guess I need some kind of controller that will give the terminals an address to use.

Thanks all for any suggestions.

u may find something.^^;

mudface,

thanks. i've done that and so far they are all printer interfaces (I already have an Ethernet interface for my printer). I'll keep looking though.

OK, got it sort of figured out. I need to hook the baluns to the RJ-45 and the RJ-45 to a star hub. That will basically allow me to keep using the twinax controller, but with the RJ-45 cabling from the balun to the hub. J.R. Juiliano
