We have a 2008R2 AD. I am trying to configure it through the firewall. We had a 2003 AD working fine through the firewall. The differences I am reading about for 2008 are the Dynamic High ports.
I know of the NETSH commands to limit the scope of ports it can use so we don't have to open tons of ports. The minimum is 1000 ports. Is there any good reason not to use that minimum number?
The old domain was configured to use 5000-5100. Any reason not to just configure the new domain to use 5000-6000, open those ports in the firewall and call it a day?
Thanks.
Thanks,
Andrew
