The OSI model shows where TCP / IP fit in terms of network communication layers:

Bear in mind that the currently used IP is IPv4. IPv6 is being developed as the next stage of IP.
gives an overview of TCP/IP in a windows environment (aimed at WinNT).
gives information not only on TCP/IP, but the other protocols (e.g. FTP, SMTP) which make use of it.
A search for "TCP/IP architecture" using Google also finds a number of useful hits (too may to start listing here).
