This is driving me crazy.

GW 6.0.1 sp1

As of about a month ago, I've noticed an interesting addition to our TCP Application Connection Info:

From the server console, if I choose: GWPOA --> F4 Configuration ---> Application Connections

Each of staff's internal IP addresses are present, however each are following by added info/text.

For example it will say:

TCP Application Connections
192.168.5.120.happycamper.upnorth.fishing.net
In Use: False
Abort: False

192.168.5.130.happycamper.upnorth.fishing.net
In Use: False
Abort: False

...and so forth. It adds that "happycamp....." to every entry. Where in the world does this file load/reference? I can't find anything. No recent changes with DNS/firewall or anything. Everything appears to work ok.

I would greatly appreciate any insight. I'm this close to the looney bin!

TIA.

Check your DHCP server. It's passing the DNS suffix to the systems. Then go find the person that setup the DHCP server and beat them with feather sword.

For help on the DHCP, you will need to specify what kind of DHCP server it is (M$, Novell, Cisco, Linux)

It sits on my Novell Netware 6.0 sp3, SBE
At the server, installed items, it states DNSDHCP 1.0.7
The DNSDHCP Management Console I use states 6.0

I'm not sure who originally set the DHCP server up. I did look at all settings, and there isn't anything that pops out as being wrong, nor has anything changed recently. Under Global properties, lists router/DNS entries.

Again, this just started about a month or so.

Here's the kicker:

If I were to send you an email, you would receive it fine. BUT, if you were to look at the header/properties of that email, that darn "192.168.5.x.happycamper.upnorth.fishing.net" is now attaching to every single email coming out of my system.

The 1st portion of the email (IP/MX/etc...) is fine, the last portion of the email is correct (from OUR-INTERNAL-DOMAIN-MTA by ourmail.domainname.org with Novell_GroupWise)
-- it's just that 2nd part is now hosed.
