Tcombobox & TDBCombobox

I am starting to learn on how to use database. I have a Tcombobox that I am populating with one field from one table. I just discovered the TDBCombobox. I figured that if i gave it the database, datasource & field, it would populate itself. Well, it's not. It looks like I have to do the same thing and populate it manually.
So, why should i use TDBCombobox instead of Tcombobox?

the edit part of the tdbcombo links to a data field.
this allows your users to select a value from the dropdown list to populate the field.

you can use a tdblookupcombo where the edit part links to a field and the dropdown list gets its values from another field/table.
