Ooops, I'd put this in wrong forum. Mea culpa

Anyone know?
When using ipconfig/all one of the items is the lease start & finish time. For me it gives 10 mins rather than the usual(?) 24hrs. Inconvenient when not renewed automatically.
Can it be prolonged?
Thanx.

It is a setting from the DHCP server. Check with your admin.

As the man said, it is a function of how your DHCP scope has been configured. Generally, short leases are used when you have insufficient addresses for the number of systems using that scope.

If you're using an internal network addressing scheme there really shouldn't be a problem. Does your DCHP administrator understand the ramifications of such a short lease?
