why does IE7 apply the height given to a tbody tag to the table row/cell ?

even if I apply a height to the td it is ignored and the cells are the same size a the height given to tbody?

what am I doing wrong?

I just ran into this problem the other day when I first downloaded IE7 - I think the Holly Hack is what fixed it - apply height:1% to the <tr> tags for IE only (this will require a conditional statement that loads an IE only css file, and I think I remember you saying earlier today that you didn't wanna do that..... that is, unless they've found an IE7 only CSS hack)

Thanks Kaht, after today's little discrepancy with me swearing black was white - ahem [blush] , i'm glad I was right on this one.

What i've done to fix this in my case was apply a fixed height to the tbody tr , as I am using fixed font sizes - i know before anyone reminds me of accesability scaling!

but in IE anyway if I choose to enlarge the font the text on the page doesn't actually change so I'm not that worried.

N.B. Apologies to those hard of sight surfers who may be unfortunate to stumble across my POS website :)

Yeah, I rather like that zoom feature, but it seems a bit buggy.
