Hi Eveybody. It's a new year, and there being nothing about TBCT since January of last year, I thought now would be a good time to post this question. (plus a cust. is asking about it).

So the C.O. (DMS) can do TBCT. I understand that TBCT is not a "feature" that the switch (Succession 4.5) has (by name).

TBCT can work with a PBX though. And that brings us to the question of, how is that programmed on the switch?

I noticed in last years post, "DV3I is a EURO ISDN feature" which I guess means the trunks would be built as ISGF or QSIG trunks. (Currently the customer's are built as NI2).

Is it true? Is there anyone out there who has TBCT or "2B Channel Transfer" utilized with their C.O.? Would you be so kind as to share, how you accomplished this, to include RDB and DCH programming?

hope that is clear.

Thanks!

Maybe 911guru will chime in here and tell us why Nortel PABX's don't support the feature but there DMS CO does. Trust me it would have made my life a lot easier. I even had customers go to Avaya because they support it.

Ok I found a couple of things but not sure if they will help.

Release Link Trunk (RLT) is a Nortel variant of TBCT

I also found this in the message guide but could not find a reference anywhere else in the docs.

SCH1890 = TBCT Package is not equipped.
Action: Enable TBCT Package

RLT WILL NOT WORK ON DID TYPE TRUNKS

hawks: found that SCH code also...pretty odd that there is no other reference to TBCT in the docs. BTW System is Succession 4.5. p.s. also found that thread. (so little info on TBCT that google found it for me).

I'll do some more research on RLT.

PerryPJ: Sounds like you've touched RLT before. Will the trunks need to be switched to TIE? any programming tips would be great!

the customer is turning up alot of phones to CFW external or go to Cell phones through a tree for indavidual users. C.O. told them about TBCT, but they have no clue on how to accomplish on the Nortel. (As far as I know). If I can't find some info on the Nortel, then they will just have to bite the bullet and get more trunks.

Thanks for taking the time to look at this guys!

p.s. If you ever need a Romanian translator for tech support on Meridian's / Successions, send me a note! :)

I have used TBCT connecting a MSL-100 to an Avaya S8500. Worked like a champ. Just tell the customer to buy a SL-100 or a CS2100 and all your problems will be solved! :)

RLT does work on Tie trunks but they are Release Link Ties, large department stores like Macy's use them. They may have a dozen stores with a PABX at each, if you dial there main number it will ring a centralized answer point at this point you just ask for a department and they transfer the call back over the same trunk.
It does not go out another trunk.
