TBCDField Coversion Problems from Delphi 1 to Delphi 4 1

We have a chemistry lab application which requires numeric precision to 6 decimal positions. Previously we have been running under Delphi 1 in a Windows 3.1 environment which allowed up to 18 decimal positions for BCDfields, having switched to Delphi 4 and a Windows NT environment I have discovered that the TBCDField will allow precision up to only 4 decimal positons. The tables are Paradox 9 structures. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
