Taxi Line Setup 1

Hello everyone
Can someone assist me with configuring a "taxi line". I am using the term in quotes loosely because I have no idea what it is called in the telephony arena.
What basically we would like to do is place a cisco phone at the reception that can only be used to call a particular cab firm. When the user picks up the phone, it automatically dials the number and only that number.

Any help is much appreciated.

In the online help, look up PLAR (Private Line Automatic Ringdown. I think that is what you are looking for.

It can be done with CM.What Version of call manager are you using.

Create a new Partition, Taxi-PT. Create a new Calling Search Space Taxi-CSS and put ONLY the Taxi-PT in it. Put the Taxi-CSS on the line of the phone. Create a RP that has all the needed digits to call the Taxi Company, 9.CALLTHETAXI, strip the leading nine (or whatever your outside access number is)or not depending on your dial plan and put the new RP in the Taxi-PT. Then when the line goes off hook, the only thing available in the CSS is the new RP and it dials the Taxi number. PLAR, Ringdown, BAT-Phone, this setup has been called several things over the years.

Judas Priest!! Coming from a TDM background this seems like an awful lot of hoops to jump through for something as elementary as plain vanilla P-LAR. Gee whiz, thanks for the recipe.

It really isn't all that bad. 1 new PT 1 new CSS 1 new RP or TP. It will take longer to build the phone than do all the other stuff.

I did the following setup
>> Partition Name: Taxi_PT-9719S

>> Calling Search Spac: TaxiCSS
and Selected Partition: Taxi_PT-9719S

>> Created a translation Pattern where
Partition: Taxi_PT-9719S
Calling Search Space: TaxiCSS

>> on Called Party Transformations
Called Party Transform Mask: (I wrote a mobile number for testing)
Prefix Digits (Outgoing Calls): 1 (This is thenumber we need to dial if we want to call outside numbers)

Went to Device>Phone, opened the devide properties and in Association Information
>> Added Directory Nmuber: 9179
Route Partition: Taxi_PT-9719S
Calling Search Space: Calling Search Space

BUT when phone goes off hook - call cannot be completed as dialed is played

Can you tell what went wrong?

Thanks for the link, but I actually followed that link, still getting the error

You need the TaxiCSS on the Phone and the CSS that can reach your outgoing Route Patterns on the Translation pattern. Don't put the TaxiCSS on the TP.
