Is it possible to add more than one type of tax eg VAT and EXCISE on a Sales Invoice in Sage 6.1?

Both to show on the output Invoice document.

There can only be one Tax Group on an invoice, but a Tax Group can have up to 5 Tax Authorities. One Tax Authority can be VAT and another for Excise. The only problem might be getting the correct rates calculated.
