Tasks in Microsoft Project continue to show up as New for weeks

Hi Everyone, I have a frustrating problem that I can't seem to resolve and am hoping you guys can give me some assistance.

When a new tasks is created in Microsoft Project even after someone opens the project, or even the task in question, the very next time they go to the task it continues to show up as New. This continues to occur for weeks.

Any guidance you can provide on how to resolve this issue would be appreciated.
