My compute is really laggy, and I have done all that I can to speed it up, however, it is not the most up to date machine anyway. (P75 64meg ram uuuugggg)

here is what I have done:

removed all items from startup menu.
removed microsoft findfast.
removed items from the system Information>startup items checklist.

and the computer is still really laggy.

here are the items in my taskmanager right now:

Microsoft: Windows 95/98/Me Forum....
Explorer
Facprmon
Em_exec
Systray
Rnaapp

I know that not all of those are needed, because other computers set up around the house have only two things in them:
Explorer
Systray

Does anybody know how to stop most of those programs from running?

Well, the Microsoft entry is the internet explorer, and that should be there if you are browsing the web.

Explorer is required to be there...

Facprmon seems to be some sort of fax program

Em_exec is a program used by your scroll wheel mouse

Systry is put there by your system and in some cases is not needed

Rnaap is used by your modem for dial up networking..

Go to your startmenu and check out programs/startup and see if MS fastfind is there, if it is delete it from there as this is a big resource waster..

Also get to know msconfig....

Check the files in your registry
