I would like to know how to get dependent tasks to start on the date “after” its predecessor finishes. Currently all my dependent tasks start on the finish date of their predecessor task. For example: Task 1 finishes on Aug 27 and Task 2 starts on Aug 27. Here are some details about how I set them up (I've also attached a Url to a Google doc which contains a screen shot):

Task 1:
• Start Date: 23-Aug
• End Date: 27-Aug
• Duration: 3 days
• Constraint Type: As Soon as Possible
• Effort Driven: No
• Task Type: Fixed Duration
• Predecessor: None (first task in project)
• Successor: Task 2

Task 2:
• Start Date: 27-Aug
• End Date: 31-Aug
• Duration: 4 days
• Constraint Type: As Soon as Possible
• Task Type: Fixed Duration
• Effort Driven: No
• Predecessor: Task 1 - Finish to Start

Many thanks!
Susan

My guess is that your Project doesn't start on the start time of the day. Turn on time display through Tools > Options, View. Likely you'll see the start time of your first task is after the standard 08:00 start time.

Great. Glad to know you have it sorted out and thank you for the feedback.
