I am developing a project implementation plan using Microsoft Project 2003. In the project guide, I selected the first item, Define the project, and entered project start date. Initially, I only listed tasks and assigned 0 days duration for each task.
When I preview the file at this stage, Task Name column is neither shown in print preview nor in printout. I inserted a blank row above task 1 (Insert -> New Task). In the Task Name column, I typed abc, pressed enter. Now, when I previewed the file, Task Name column appeared with all tasks listed. I deleted the first row (abc), Task Name column still appeared in preview. But for some unknown reason, it again disappears after a while.

Before clicking the Print Preview button, make certain the scroll bar at the bottom of the task list is positioned so that the Task Name is being displayed.

If you don't see scroll bars then click on Tools | Options, select the View tab and make certain there is a check mark in the "Scroll Bars" check box.
