Task List lookup

I am using Task List to identify 5 contacts in the list of 20 contacts. I click on the 5 and right click to "create lookup" (which should bring me a lookup of 5 contacts) but it brings me a lookup of all 20. Am I missing something? One of the other computers in our office will perform the lookup.
 
What version of ACT!?

Does it matter which user is logged in... ie are you trying the same lookup from the same logged in user on the machine that works and the one that doesn't?

Version is ACT!8 2006 for Workgroups. We have 30 people in the office using ACT. Only one computer will perform the lookup correctly. If you use his computer and log in as someone else, it won't work correctly. If he logs back in, it works correctly.
 
If he logs into my machine it does not perform the lookup correctly. We select 5 prospects from a group of 20 and it looks up all 20 instead of the 5. We have "Task List+" from Durkin Computing and if we turn that on it will perform the lookup correctly.
 
Do you have Task List+ on his machine?

Why not just use TL and not worry about it?

Or maybe TL+ might be interfering with it? You might ask Jim... he's a nice guy and pretty responsive to any support question

We only have Task list+ on a couple of machines since only a couple of us will use it. The machines that don't have task list+ won't do the lookup also. Mine has tl+ and will not do the lookup unless I activate tl+. You're correct on Jim, he's very responsive.
 
BTW: Have you tried "Go To contact" instead of "Create Lookup"

I'm using ACT! 10, and Create Lookup does a lookup or all contacts listed, but Go to Contact just does a lookup of the contacts with activities selected

Mike, thanks a bunch from about 30 of us here. It works when you "Go to contact". You'd think it would just go to one contact but it goes to all the ones selected. Thanks again. I'm sure we'll have more questions and this looks like a resource we can rely on.
 
I've been supporting ACT! for 20 years... so I can find most of the useful things.

I've been nosing around. Unfortunately, I'm one of those old technically challenged guys that's just slow on how these things work. Forums like these are a real help for me.
