anyone know if it is possible to position the start menu vertically (on the left hand side) while keeping the start button at the bottom?

...and yes, i started the previous post to this asking about auto-collapsing start menu. i'm trying to tweak out my perfect XP configuration. thanks again to all taking time!

The only way I know is by turning the Monitor upside down but that is cheating. Some Video cards allow you to reverse/rotate the Desktop so that the top becomes the bottom. As you have discovered moving the Taskbar to the side results in the Start Button ending up at the top of the screen. I suppose it might be possible via massive tweaking of the Registry to achieve what you want, and if you search Google you may find someone who has done that successfully.

you can postion the bar on the left and then Move the Start button to the bottom of the left hand column. Try to Customize the bar. If that doesn't work download tweekIU from MS, it may contain the tool required
