Hello! Converting using Vmware converter 3.03 from VMware server with win2003X64 to new ESXI server. All other conversions have gone fine, but this one wont get past 78% before it gives me this error in the log:

task,295] Task failed: P2VError UNKNOWN_METHOD_FAULT(vim.fault.NotAuthenticated)

Can anyone help me with this?

Nope, nothing here about this particular error! There are, however, error similar to this one. and no solution....

If the server you are trying to convert has multiple partitions, see if you can convert one at a time to see if you can figure out what is causing the issue. Discount any system partitions the hardware may require

This machine has 3 virtual discs. would hate to try that, as it is my email server with exchange. Wouldnt it go bad, if I started to convert the machine without the database drive? can i add the drive later to that machine on the ESXi server?

You'd only be testing so the VM you create could be discarded when you start the next test (the physical server would be unharmed).

In the end, it didnt even work with just 1 disc. I made a second mailserver and moved the mailboxes. Vmware converter really is not a very stable or informative program.

How many VMs did you successfully convert with just this one failure?

2 out of 7 failed to convert. The biggest problem about that is not the fact that they failed, but the fact that the stupid converter doesnt explain/advise anything.

And 2 out of 7 is still too many failed. Did it again now on a completely different system, between 2 esxi servers. Moved from one ESXi to another; 1 out of 5 failed, no specific error. I dont consider that to be good enough.

and was able to find a few other threads outside of the vmware communities. You can give them a shot.
