Could someone please point me in the direction of a targeting tutorial? I think I must be missing something.

Thanks!!!! Holy tek-tips batman!:-0

The best tutorial I've seen is in the help section Katie, honestly.

You having more problems mate?

yep! It's really ticking me off too.

Here's the thing.

I have a text button. I have a movie clip of the text fading from blue to yellow, back to blue. What I want is for the clip to play on roll over. I tried putting the clip in the "over" state on the button, but if you don't hover for the whole time, it doesn't play out. It can't go on the "down" bit, because something else has to go there. Is there some sort of scripting that I need to do to tell it to play out?

I assumed that a on(rollover) tell target action would work, and it seems to want to let me. But when I go to tell it which clip to target, the clip doesn't seem to exist.

I read over the help section and did what it told me to, but the clip isn't there. It's bugging me out. Any help you could give would be appreciated. :-D Thanks!! Holy tek-tips batman!:-0

ZE SHARK IS BACK!

Katie,
It seems to me, this one from Dave, made for virt2001, but actually named Sam (for Melocco), does exactly what you're looking for. I know this button's animation is not the same as your's but it is based on the same principle. Notice also that the text beneath the button does also pulsate on the rool-over.
Don't know if Dave still has it up... Couldn't find the link! But I've uploaded it to my site:

Am I going to have to manage all of Dave's files too?
BTW Dave... I am downloading most of your files, if ever you need a backup!

B-)

LOL NO SHARKS! Seriously, I'm still laughing over that one.

Thanks guys! I will have a look and probably come back with more questions. heh. :) Holy tek-tips batman!:-0

HOLY %&$*#@ !!

So this is complicated, eh? Holy tek-tips batman!:-0

They're ways of doing this without the movie control clip...
Here's my first try at it(a couple of months ago):

I've managed to fine tune it to a point... But the problem of jerks in the animation still remains on quick rollovers and rollouts. This one fades on press, but I would of then had to get rid of the sliding back in on the rollout!
Would seem easy to do today, just didn't bother then!
