Hello
I have a 10 files in a total off 20 mb and i want to create a tar.gz file but with 10 mb volumes. So it will create 2 tar.gz files.
Need some help for this job. Thanks

tar --help says ...

-F, --info-script=NAME, --new-volume-script=NAME
run script at end of each tape (implies -M)
-L, --tape-length=NUMBER change tape after writing NUMBER x 1024 bytes
-M, --multi-volume create/list/extract multi-volume archive

-Haben sie fosforos?
-No tiengo caballero, but I have un briquet.

You could also use [tt]split[/tt] to chop up the large [tt]tar[/tt] file.
