Hi folks,
I'm not much of a hardware guy, I'm more of a software developer. I have a client who needs some large data files delivered to him on 4mm DAT using TAR format for the files. He says if "a non-tar file is written to tape, I'm pretty sure we can't read it."
The only 4mm DAT we have is on an NT server and we use NTBackup.
My question is, does NTBackup write the files to tape in TAR? If not is there a workaround?
Thank you for your time!!!!
Michael
