I am hooked up to a FlashTalk via printer port using Hyper Terminal but I see that I am not able to minipulate the times and class of service.
Options on screen are:
1 mailbox admin
2 grouplist admin
3 system admin and configuration
4 reports
5 display type

Is there a secret way to give a mailbox more time other then class of service?
Btw system admin and config only allows multiple admin access and DTMF delay...what is the password to allow multiple admin?

You cannot do any manipulations of class of service thru the sets...this is why I went thru the port with my laptop. ~Will Nortel soon be NoTel??~

no.... you cannot do any cos changes on the flash through the lap top... what you see is what you get. [sad]

you can only manipulate COS on the NAM not the Startalk.

Well your wrong about StarTalk, I have gone in with hyper terminal on a StarTalk and you can pretty much change everything in there.
Btw flashtalk and NAM model 2 is manufactured discontinued next month and will be replaced with the callpilot :). ~Will Nortel soon be NoTel??~

Unfortunately they are replacing a voicemail system that is almost affordable to the low end customers with one that is almost affordable to the high end customers JerryReeve

Nortel will be NOTEL with the kind of Vmail thing they are trying to do.... Call pilot is NOT for micro business.

But... did I see above that Flash cannot change the COS through a set? I believe I've done this quite often.

The topic is about MANIPULATING the COS and not assigning it.
I believe the Call Pilot will be cheaper and much better in my opinion :p ~Will Nortel soon be NoTel??~

Ack manipulation.

But why do you think Call Pilot will be cheaper?? This is after all Nortel.

My company is an Authorized Nortel Reseller and that was what they presented to me. ~Will Nortel soon be NoTel??~

CurlyCord,

Please keep us informed about callpilot vs nvm pricing and features !! I'm not Nortel Authorized, but still I can't wait to learn about the differences.

Oh well then. If Nortel presented it, it must be so.

I will try to keep you posted on this if I remember, I am currently sick as a dog at home lol or if somebody else here who is Authorized might help. Keep in mind the NAM4 is still around :) ~Will Nortel soon be NoTel??~

Any idea on settings for a Procomm or Hyper session when hooking up to a FLASH rs232 ?
I'm looking to send reports directly to my laptop.... can I back-up any kind of data from this port? I do have NRU on my lappy....or am I suppose to do the data backup from the KEY side of things with NRU?

thanks
Todd

Settings for a Flash are 1200 baud, 8 data, 1 stop, no parity. Default password is SYSMGR (all caps). I don't think you can backup the Flash data. The older Startalks (A, B, & C) could be backed up and restored as long as you had the 5 1/4" floppy drive and the utilities disk (basically a boot disk for the Startalk). Brian Cox
