I had an old old old CAS for a Definity R6 Si that went bad. I got some Tapit Call Accounting software but I am not sure how to hook it up to the Si switch. Has anyone ever hooked this up physically? I need to get it installed but the manufacturer doesn't have the physical configuration. I think it's just an RS232 connection and I know that it connects to thcom port on a computer. I think there are some configurations in the switch I must handle also. Any help?

I did it a couple years back, only I'm not in the office today to see the connection. If you dont get any responses from anyone between now and then I'll be able to look for you on Monday - i'll check back

We're using Tapit with a S8300 via TCP/IP. I don't know if the R6 has IP capability.

You need a physical connection from the DCE connection on the back of the A carrier. That connection goes to a COM port on the back of the PC that your TAPIT is running on. Your CAS was going out the same port.

OK that makes sense about the DCE and the COM port on the computer. So if my CAS was going out on that then I should be able to just load this software and configure it without doing anything to the switch. Right?

Load it, configure the COM port on the TAPIT PC and let 'er rip!
