Okay, so here's the layout...
We have What's UP Gold (network monitoring application). It is on a physical PC and is working okay. It send email for a node outage and also communication verbally through the PC speaker.

Here's the question...
Is there a down-and-dirty application that will allow me to play a WAV file through the phones speaker (i.e. Page)? I have a CTI Link Pro license. Is there a way to do it through windows? Remember, it's not timed, it has to be spawned through an outage event in What'sUP.

Take care,
Drew

You can use Post Dial to generate a pre configured Page to go out in VMPro, as for the whats up Gold, it would have to initiate some sort of Tapi short code when the error happens. Another option is to have the PC sound out connect to a paging Amp to make the page for you.

To play a wav file through a PC's speaker just run the wav file. Or am I not understanding your question.

You can do this programmatically on Windows using ShellExecute.

WhatsUP announces through the PC speaker itself. What I want to do is to have WhatsUP initiate a page and play a WAV file to the helpdesk staff. I can execute a program upon failure as well.

Take care,
Drew

ok I see. You could do it with programming but not an easy task. You could use TAPI to basically do what What's up is doing - but instead of playing to the default sound device on the PC - ie send out via the speakers you get to send out via the TAPI IP Office sound device. for this you will have to install the WAV drivers installed on the initiating PC, make a page call and send the wav file to the IP Office sound device.

It is not a simple thing to do even for an experienced programmer.

If you need someone to do this for you... let me know.
