I have installed on my PC a Standard Alcatel-Lucent TAPI driver which appears correctly in Phone and Modem Options under XP Pro.
When I use Phone Dialer (dialer.exe) and select the TAPI driver.
Hit Dial and enter an internal extension number my handset goes off hook and dials the number NO Issue
If I want to dial an external number I Hit Dial and enter the number prefixed by a 0 (0 gets me an outside line on the phone system) No issue
So the TAPI driver is working correctly, now this is my specific issue.
I have the Alcatel-Lucent OXO phone system installed a Security Company where they have Alarm Monitoring software which when dialing (in event of alarm) directly attaches to dialer.exe to make the call.
All the numbers in the security software data bases, 1000’s of them are not prefixed with the 0 required to dial out. I have been trying to configure the dialing rules under Phone and Modem options to insert a 0 on all calls passing via dialer.exe, however it seems to ignore the rules because it is using a TAPI Driver, it seems the rules have been build to work with a physical modem not TAPI driver.
Does anybody have a solution for me short of changing the security software numbers to include a 0 – This is super urgent
